Schedule of Events:
12:15 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. "Fusion Fluidity"
Slow, slinky, liquid-like movements that make a wonderful addition to any dancer’s toolbox. This workshop explores sinuous movement atop seamless footwork with powerful dynamic shifts. We'll explore undulations, waves, and more.
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. "The Opulent Jellyfish"
A dynamic, decadent choreography and movement class - deliciously detailed. Unusual, strange, and powerful ways to break out of our dance habits. Movement exploration focuses on body posture, lines, and pathways.
BONUS: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. "Taste Test" with Devin Alfather
A Fusion bellydance movement introduction for complete beginners. A refresh for prior practitioners of the art form. Foundational building blocks and fundamental vocabulary in fusion bellydance.
BONUS: One free ticket to the evening's show "Penumbra" at 6:30 p.m. featuring Karina, Devin Alfather, and the Jewel Box Dancers!
What to wear:
Leggings, a bralette, and at least one item that makes you feel enchanting. Tank top or other covering optional.
Adornments are encouraged, including: jewelry, coin belt, hip scarf, leather belt, etc.
We recommend bare feet in the studio, but you are welcome to bring foot coverings if preferred. Socks and leg warmers are also available for purchase at the studio.
