Ouija Workshop with The Austin Séance

  • Nocturna 605 W. 37th Street, Suite B Austin United States (map)

By the late 1960s, sales of the Ouija board rivaled that of America’s best-selling board games. In small towns and large, from Los Angeles to New York, the famous wooden planks and planchettes seemingly were everywhere, delivering titillating, subversive entertainment for teen-agers and grad students, housewives and poets. But Ouija was no ordinary toy. Although manufactured and mass-produced, Ouija was steeped in spiritualist traditions dating back at least a century and was associated with esoteric religions, paranormal exploration, art and literature.

Join Albert Lucio and Jake Cordero of The Austin Séance for a hands-on workshop on the history and use of these fascinating divinatory devices. This group practice session on Sunday, Oct. 25, will last approximately 70 minutes.

All are welcome: from skeptics to believers of all things paranormal!

Attendees are asked to dress in a way to show reverence for this historic parlor activity (no jeans, flip flops, or casual tees.)

✨✨✨✨✨✨

$25 per person.

Doors at 11:15 a.m., doors locked and experience begins at 11:30 a.m. Runs until approximately 1:00 p.m.
